Dr. Joab Bosman (J.B) Wasunna
It is with deep sorrow and by God’s loving grace that we announce the passing of Dr. Joab Bosman (J.B) Wasunna, which occurred in Mombasa on the 13th of January, 2023.
Dr. Wasunna was the devoted husband of the late Rose Akelo Wasunna. Beloved father of Elizabeth (and Patrick) Ochwa, Angela (and Eric) Rwiliriza, Dr. Anthony (and Eva) Wasunna and Arthur (and Isabelle) Wasunna. Loving grandfather to Philip, Jade, Akariza, Hawi, Hera, Mich, Karina and Jeremy.
Son of the late Mzee Haggai Wasunna and the late Mama Dorsilla Wasunna. Cherished brother to the late Eng. Edwin Wasunna and Hellen, Mary and the late Joseph Kotonya, the late Prof. Ambrose Wasunna and Marigold, Christine and Obadiah Wasonga, Prof. Aggrey Wasunna and Dr. Monique and Dr. Frederick Wasunna and the late Violet.
Brother-in-law to Gilbert and Jennifer Oduol, Deborah Nyabundi, Mary Oduol, Emily and the late John Oduol, Thomas and the late Jane Ayot Oyieke, Luke and Leah Muma, Charles and Joyce Oduol, Francis and Mildred Oduol, Catherine Oduol, Loise and the late Dr. Allan Oduol, James and Rose Ochieng’ Oduol, Emmanuel and Sandra Oduol, the late Ben and Jayne Oduol-Ndede, Richard Oduol and Dr. Apollo and Agnes Oduol. Dr. J. B. Wasunna was a wonderful uncle, cousin and mentor to the wider Wasunna family and Kochieng’ clan.
He was also a respected doctor and pillar in the Mombasa community. We shall miss his intellect, warmth, laughter and love of family. We, his children, take solace in the knowledge that he is reunited with our beloved mother, the love of his life.
The funeral service will be held at the ACK – Mombasa Memorial Cathedral on the 19th of January, 2023 at 12:00pm, followed by the burial service in Nyawita Village, Maseno, on the 21st of January, 2023 at 10:00am.
2nd Timothy 4:7 – “I have fought the fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
My heartfelt condolences to the family. May God give you strength to carry on knowing he is now resting in eternal peace.

It is with profound sadness that I recall our chance meeting in Mombasa. Dr. Joab Bosman (J.B) Wasunna was brimming with life and exuded an energy that was both infectious and inspiring. To know that such a vibrant soul has departed is truly heartbreaking.
