Dr. Jonah Kiprono Birgen

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Dr. Jonah Kiprono Birgen of Chepkoinik Village, Ainamoi Sub-county, Kericho County.

Son of the late Johnston Togom and the late Tabutany Togom.

Husband to Dinah Birgen. Father to Judy Bartocho, Victor Rono, Angela Birgen, Linda Birgen and Mike Birgen. Grandfather to Hails Kiprop and Nathan Kibet.

Brother to David Birgen, Grace Birgen, the late Wilson Tonui, the late Rebecca Korir, Betty Togom, Irene Ngeno, Anna Cheruiyot, the late Borness, Julius, Benard, Judith Cheruiyot, Chebet, Vincent and Chepkoech.

In-law to Grace Birgen, the late Joyce, Beatrice, Winny and Faith Tonui.

Family, friends and relatives are meeting daily at his residence in Kenyatta University Main Campus – Nairobi, from 5.00pm.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday 14th September, 2023 at Kenyatta University Community Chapel at 12.00 noon.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Friday 15th September, 2023 for an overnight vigil at his home. The burial ceremony will take place on Saturday 16th September, 2023 at the family farm in Mwaragania Village, Kiptororo Ward, Kuresoi North Sub-county, Nakuru County.
