The Veterinary Fraternity regrets to announce the death of Dr Kenneth Wakungwi Wameyo. Until his demise, he was serving as a Member of the Kenya Veterinary Board Committee on Communication Partnership and Resource Mobilization (CPRM), the Veterinary Superintendent at Skylight Chemicals Ltd, and a Director of Vetkenya Google Groups.

As a volunteer communication service provider, he rendered communication services to the whole veterinary fraternity spanning the Global Veterinary Family; Commonwealth Veterinary Association ; East African Community Veterinary Associations and the Kenyan Veterinary Family.

He was passionate about the welfare of animals and spearheaded many campaigns against animal abuse. He is the immediate former Honorary Secretary of the Kenya Veterinary Association and until his demise he served as a Veterinary Surgeon as well as a Professional Sales person for veterinary inputs and supplies, with huge experience in Sales Management both direct and indirect Personal and Missionary selling. He had wide experience in Animal Health Pharmaceutical & Nutritional Feed Additives industry in Kenya and neighboring countries Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo & South Sudan.

PAPA, as he was fondly called, had specialties in Veterinary Practice, Livestock & Poultry Farms, Feed Millers, Tender business in Government institutions, private corporate bodies, Non-Governmental Organizations and Distribution Network Creation for veterinary enterprises. His key competencies were in establishing and building sound business infrastructure, building and maintaining lasting business relationships and served as a strategic marketer.

The veterinary profession mourns its premier selfless communication guru and icon of over 20 years and wish to send their heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Dr Kenneth Wameyo and the global veterinary family for this irreplaceable loss.

Friends and well-wishers are meeting daily at his residence, to condole with the family and on 7th November, 2019 at All Saints Cathedral Hall from 6.00pm. A requiem mass will be held at All Saints Cathedral Main Sanctuary on Friday, 8th November, 2019 at 2.00 pm. The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Saturday. 9th November, 2019 for its final journey to Lubinu Farm, Mumias East Constituency, Kakamega County. Kenneth will be laid to rest on 11th November, 2019.

PAPA, in linking the vets and the animal resources industry stakeholders, you were second to none and we remain indebted to you, now groping in the dark as we ponder how to carry out he key communication function for the profession which was done for the industry at the cost of PAPA.
