Dr. Sheila Navalia Onzere
It is with deep sorrow that we, the family of Emily Onzere announce the sudden death of Dr. Sheila Navalia Onzere (Massachusets) which occurred on 31st August 2019.
Daughter of Solomon Tsisaga Onzere of Vuyiya Village and Emily Endusa Onzere. Sister of Dennis Ambale, Sammy Onzere and Barbara Lavisa. Sister in Law to Ruth Wanja. Aunt of Stephanie, Mark, Olyvia, Keisy, Fidel, Julia and Zuri Joy Onzere. Niece of Salome Engoke, Leah Buliva, Ann Chabaga, the late Jemima Olembo, the late Hellen Olindo, Rachel Sabwa and Eliud Onzere Cousin and Friend to many.
Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and arrangements at her mother’s Umoja home from 6pm.
The cortege leaves Montezuma Monalisa Funeral home on Thursday 5th September 2019 at 9.am. Funeral Service will take place at Waudo Friends’ Church from 10am.
The burial will take place on Saturday 7th September 2019 at their home in Nangili, Kakamega District.
I am sending my blessings from the US to Sheila’s family. We were dear friends when we lived in Gainesville, FL together. Sheila was a force of a woman–bubbling with intelligence, humor, and grit. She was an extremely special person, who cared for me as if I was family and touched my life deeply. Though her life was cut short, I am so truly grateful for the life she lived, as I know she touched many more people than just me. May Sheila’s family find peace amidst this great loss.
Unity primary school alumni I have very fond memories of you my primary school friend. A wonderful soul. I am crushed not the best way to learn of the departure of a friend. RIP.
