Dr. Thomas Bwire Okumu

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Dr. Thomas Bwire Okumu which occurred on 25th April 2021 at Kenyatta National Hospital.

Son to the late Okumu Ombalo and the late Catherine Kudoyi. He was the last surviving patriarch of the family, from Manyore village, Nambale, Busia County. Loving Husband to Margaret Amaidza Bwire. Dearest Father to the Late Caroline, Hilda, Vivian, Valerie, Brenda, Mildred, Kenneth, Catherine and Oddah.

Grandfather to Specioza, Fanuel, Ryan, Flavian, Thaddeus, Luther, Felicia, Margen, Kayle, Achie, Kinsey, Mc’laren, Alekhine, Vanessa, Gloria, and Lincoln among others. Uncle to Okombo’s, Musiko’s, Buluma’s, Wanzala’s, Mukenya’s, Mudura’s, Ongure’s, Magero’s, Mukhwaya’s, Lwande’s,Wesonga’s among others. Father In-law to Jack, James, Col. J. Khaduli, Bosch, Kennedy, Nowrince and George.

‘Namunenwa’ to the Wamukowa’s, Mutuli’s, Khaduli’s, Ogara’s, Abuya’s and Warera’s. Son in -Law to Ben & Eunice Edebe of Ivonda village,VIhiga County. Brother in law to Joyce Yabatsa, Anne Ebacha, Florence Kesa and the late Mike Edebe among others.

The cortege leaves KNH mortuary on Thursday 6.00am for Kakamega where it will lie in state. There will be a requiem mass on Friday 7th May 2021 – 2.00 PM at St. Joseph Cathedral Kakamega. Daktari will be laid to rest at his home In Manyore village, Nambale – Busla county on 8th May 2021.
