The Chairperson, Board of Directors, Director General and members of staff, Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), regret to announce the death of Edward Angutsa Chweya, who passed away on 13th April, 2022 at The Nairobi West Hospital. Mr. Chweya was a member of staff at the Security Department at KEMRI Headquarters in Nairobi.

Doting father to Faith,Topyster and Imelda Angutsa. Son of the late Mr. Gilbert Chweya Atsiaya and Mama Agata Chweya.

Grandson to the late Rev. Johnson Anamange and Mama Elizabeth.

Brother to Kennedy, Stanley, Eva, Henry, Dan John and Anne Kiendi. A nephew to Benedict, Esther Chahenza, Jane Mulusa, the late Frank Lugalia, Beatrice Savai and the late Alice Mulumbi.

A cousin to Hassan Lugalia, Shirley Lugalia, Joseph, Harris Mulusa, Henry Vulimu, Fred Onyino, Branice Livere, among others.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his house at KEMRI Flats – off Mbagathi Road, Flat G Door No. 2.

The cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home in Nairobi on Thursday 28th April, 2022 for travel to his rural home in Vihiga County.

He will be laid to rest on Saturday, 30th, April 2022 at Givogi Village in Vihiga County.
