Elder (Rtd) Francis Ngotho Macharia

1940 – 2021

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of retired Elder Francis Ngotho Macharia of Kagere village, Othaya, Nyeri County, which occurred on 27/04/2021.

Beloved son of the late Macahria Kihara and Mary Nyambura. Husband of Mary Nyambura. Father of Dr Maina (MKU), Mathenge (NDMA, Laikipia), Rev. Macharia (FGCK-Thika), Mwangi (North Riara Schools), Muiga (DKUT), Gichane (Juja) and Wanjiru (Wiyumiririe).

Father-in-law of Prof Naomi Maina (JKUAT), Mueni Mathenge, Pst. Mary Macharia (FGCK-Thika), Anne Mwangi, Grace Muiga, Anne Gichane and Josphat Wambugu. Grandfather of 21 and a great-grandfather of Charlize Nana Mueni.

Brother of Grace Njoki, the late Kihara Macharia and the late Njambi Ndung’u. Step-brother of Charles Nderitu and the late Gathoni, Kihara, Gathoni and Ngunu.

Family and friends are meeting at his home in Kagere village, for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Nyeri Funeral Home (Outspan), on Tuesday 04/05/2021 at 8.00am for church service to be held at PCEA Kagere, sorting at 11.00am and thereafter interment at his Kimumu home in Kagere village.
