It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved Elizabeth Gathigia Waithaka, that occurred on 31st July, 2023 at Consolata Mathari Mission Hospital, Nyeri after a short illness.

She was the daughter to the late Peter Mutahi and the late Veronica Ngima.

Wife to Dr. Michael Miano Waithaka.
Loving mother to Edith Kirigo (Pwani University), Pamela Wanjiru (Germany) and Karen Wanjiku (Graphic Designer).

Beloved sister to Margaret Wairimu Mwangi, the late Stephen Mwangi, Charity Wanja, Josephat Maina, Charles Mwaragania, Rose Wamuyu Githemo and Catherine Waithiegeni Muthiga.

Daughter-in-law to the late Robert Waithaka and the late Joyce Kirigo. Sister-in-law to the late John Mwangi, the late Peter Mbora, Francis Ndei, Monica Nyawira Kimondo, Charles Muthigani, Ann Wambui Wachira and Christopher Muriuki. Treasured auntie and grandmother to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at their home in Garden Estate – King’ong’o, Nyeri at 4.00pm and at Ibis Hotel – Nyeri starting at 6.00pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege will leave Consolata Mathari Hospital – Nyeri Mortuary on Saturday, 5th August 2023 at 8:00am for funeral service thereafter burial service will be held at their Mahiga, Mweiga  farm at 10:00am.

In God’s hands you rest, in our hearts you remain forever.

    You were more than an Auntie to us. Thank you for your guidance, for being a great friend and confidant to me over the years. I will hold all the wonderful memories we shared, deep in my heart. We love and miss you terribly. Rest in peace, Auntie ❤️

    I am so sorry for your loss. I’ll always remember the warmth Auntie had whenever she invited us to your home. She was like an Auntie and Cucu rolled into one person. I’ll miss her infectious laughter. May God rest her soul in eternal peace.

    Dear Uncle Mike, Kirigo, Pam and Shiko, I cannot even begin to comprehend what you must be going through and I am so so sorry for your loss. I hope it brings comfort to know that although Aunty may no longer be with us, her kind heart and loving nature will always be remembered and felt by all of us who had the pleasure of knowing her.
