1923 – 2023

It’s with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the resting of Elizabeth Muthoni on 26th February, 2023 after a gallant fight with a long illness.

Wife of the late Paul Gacheru. Co-wife to the late Esther Mwihaki.

Daughter of the late Rev Moses Muriithi and the late Esther Wangui and the late Peris Muthoni of Kihumbuini, Gatanga,Thika.

Beloved mother to the late Francis Gathuri, Esther Gacheru and Pastor Nicholas Ngatia, Mary Gacheru and James Kabul, Joyce Gacheru. Step-mother to Jacinta Njeri, Michael Gacheru, Mary Gakumo, Magdalene Mwangi, Virginia Kamande.

Sister to the late Susan Wanjiku, the late Mary Kinyagia, the late Leah Gachukia, the late Naomi Mbugua, the late Nathan Mungai, the late Simon Mwangi, Ishmael Mwangi, Benjamin Njoroge, David Macharia, Joseph Ndirangu, Susan Wanjiku, Sophia Gatere, Sarah Wairimu, Elizabeth Mburu.

Doting grandmother to Kevin Gacheru, Annette Muthoni, Joanne Muthoni, Lynda Muthoni, Dennis Mwangi, Joseph Ndirangu, Ramona Richu, Rimona Richu. Great-grandmother to Ramon, Angel, Lianne, Emma and Ivy.

Family and friends are meeting at All Saints Cathedral Church, Nairobi from Wednesday 1st March to Friday
3rd March 2023 from 5.30pm.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Memorial Hospital at 8.00am for a service and interment at the burial site at Karla, Kihumbuini, Gatanga. She will be laid to rest on Tuesday 6th March 2023.
