The family wishes to announce the passing on of Mama Esther Wanjiku Gichia (Gatimu) which occurred on Tuesday, 15/10/2019.

Daughter of the late Benson Kimori Mwangi and the late Waithira Kimori. Wife of the late Charles Gichia Muchira. Sister of Mary Wanjiru Obadiah, the late Danson Mwangi Kimori and the late Jennifer Njoki Kahonge. Mother of Catherine and Winston Muraguri (Nyeri), Lispar and the late Telah Munge (Gakoigo), Margaret and Wilson Karuri (Donholm), Peter, Keziah and Wanjiku Muchira (Gathiru), Benson and Virginia Kimori (Membley), Faith and Lawrence Macharia (Tena), Stanley and Jane Gathung-u (Gathiru), James and Wambui Njau (Thika), Emmah and Joseph Gachomba (Kenyatta Rd). Grandmother and great-grandmother of many. Mother-in-law of the Mutu’s family (Nyeri), Karanja’s family (Nginda), Karuri’s family (Kahatia), Kabage’s family (Kagaa), Kibera’s family (Eldoret),Wamachai’s family (Kaganda), Gachomba’s family (Kanunga).

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Mortuary on Friday, 25/10/2019 followed by a funeral service and burial at her home in Gathiru Village, Kahuro Sublocation, Mugoiri Location, Murang’a County.
