Fr. Silas Maina Warui
It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that the Diocese of Embu announces the passing on of Fr. Silas Maina Warui. The Lord called him to Himself on Friday, 22nd July 2022 at Holy Family Nguviu Parish where he was doing his Apostolate.
Son to the late Silvester Warui and the late Getrude Kagure. His siblings were the late Joseph Mwangi, Sophia Wambui Ndung’u, the late Michael Waruingi, Ann Muthoni Njuguna, Andrew Muita, Margret Wangui Hamisi, Anthony Kamau and Lucy Wangari Gakuya.
Brother-in-law to Mrs. Felishina Waruingi, Samuel Njuguna Mburu, Rose Muita, Stephen Bakari, Margret Kamau and Dr. Edward Gakuya.
Among his many nieces and nephews are Sister Faith and Sister Rose of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus. He was uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather to many.
The Requiem Mass will be held on 29th July 2022 at 3.00pm at Our Lady of Assumption Embu Parish. The cortege leaves St. Raphael home at Consolata Hospital Kyeni on Friday, 29th July 2022. After Mass, the cortege will leave for the Resurrection Chapel at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral- Karurina. On 30th July 2022, the Funeral Mass and burial rites will be at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral Church starting at 10.00am.
“Fr, Silas Maina Warui, you have fought the good fight, you have completed the course, you have kept the faith,”rest in eternal peace (2 Tim.4:7).
Dear Family,
Am deeply shocked to see on internet my good friend Fr. Silas Maina Warui has passed away.
His last message to me was on 20 July. He just was arrived in Nguviu from Mombasa. He never told me whether he was sick. Because he had sent no message more then a week, I had a look on internet and found this. What has happened?
We were friends already more then 25 years.
