Son of the late Mr. Bernard Kariuki Thoronja and the late Mrs Alice Wametumi Kariuki. Loving husband of Mrs Joyce Wangechi Kariuki. Father of Lucy W. Kamau, James Kamau Kariuki, Jane Wambui Kariuki, Stanley Githinji Kariuki, George Kabathi Kariuki and Patricia Wanjiru Kariuki. Brother of Jane Wambui, Margaret Wangechi, J.B Kariuki (Kabathi), Benson Mugo, Nahashon Chege, the late Eva Njeri, Robert Kimemia, Benson Mwangi and the late Wanjiru Kariuki. Father-in-law of Noah Karago and Charles Muita. Grandfather of many.
