With tears in our eyes, but humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the promotion to glory of Mrs. Grace Wangui Kibanya (Nyina wa John) on Tuesday, 2nd May 2023, in Nairobi after a long illness.

Wife to the late Muriithi Kibanya Muhoro of Tumu Tumu, Nyeri, and daughter to the late John Wairoto and Priscilla Nyanjiru of Othaya, Nyeri. Daughter-in-love to the 1st African Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) the late Rt. Rev. Charles Muhoro Kareri and the late Mrs. Esteri Gachoki Muhoro.

Loving mother to John Wairoto, Nyokabi Njoki (Pips), Wakabocha Muhoro (Karoo), Kahoreria Gachari (Richaa) & Carol Karwitha, and Jessica Wanjiru (Shiro) (TumuTumu Girls Secondary School).

Sister to Jimna Mwangi & Aurelia Wambui (Othaya), Joe Ng’era (USA) & Immaculate Wanjiku (Othaya), Margaret Wairimu (USA) & the late Said Wabera, the late Esther Wangari, Allan Mwai & Ven. Canon Prof Wangari Mwai (Vice Chancellor, Presbyterian University of East Africa), Naomi Nyambura & Godfrey Kamae (Thogoto), Jane Njoki & Wilson Gichubi (USA), and the late Irene Watetu & Maina Ndekere.

Sister-in-law to the late Kahoreria Gachari & Isabella Mumbi, the late Waita Wahome & the late Shelmith Njoki, Muthoni Mwihaki (Kihaa), the late Irungu Muturi & Faith Waithiegeni (USA). Adoring grandmother to Rodgers Bundi, Muriithi Wanjiru,Wangui Njoki, Muriithi Gachari, John Edwards, and John Gachari among others. Auntie, cousin, great-grandmother and friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily for funeral arrangements at her home in Giakinai Farm, TumuTumu, Nyeri from 4.00pm.

The cortege leaves TumuTumu Hospital Mortuary on Saturday, 13th May 2023 at 8.00a.m. for the funeral service at TumuTumu Girls Sports Field, Nyeri at 10.00a.m.Thereafter burial will be at her Giakinai Farm, TumuTumu.
