It is with deep sorrow that we announce the demise of Hamtary Waringa Gathungu. Daughter of the late Meshack Kibunja and the late Rebecca Wagikuyu.

Wife to the late Ishmael Gathungu Gachu. Mother to Jane Gathoni & Jeremiah Ngotho, Rebecca Wanjiru & the late Joseph Njuguna and Alice Gathungu.

Sister to the late Milka Nyambura, the late Daniel Kimani, the late Adam Kahungu, the late Paul Wamukuru, Beth Wairimu Stephen, the late Deborah Nyokabi, the late Shadrack Kariuki.

Sister-in-law to the late Hannah Njeri, the late Rhoda Wanjiru, the late Jose Mukami and Diana Warau Kimari.

Grandmother to Eva Ngotho, Joyce Waringa Ngotho, Peter Ngotho, Wairimu Ngotho, Maina Njuguna, Joan Njuguna, Hamtary Waringa Njuguna, Jane Njuguna, George Karienye, Winnie Hamtary.

She was an auntie, a grandmother, a great grandmother and friend to many.

The cortege leaves Mwai Kibaki Hospital mortuary, Othaya on Tuesday 1st August 2023 at 8.00am. Funeral service to be held at ACK Emmanuel Church, Wambwe at 11.00am then followed by her interment at her home at Gacharage-ini, Mathioya in Murang’a county.
