Appreciation In Memoriam

Tuesday 16th Dec 1997 — Sunday 8th August 2021

That first cry, that first smile, the prettiest toothless grin, the euphoric chuckles, the patter of little feet heading nowhere and everywhere…she came and painted our lives in all the colors of love. Then a wind, not so calm, yet not as ferocious as a Nova Scotia blizzard, blew her way, and caught her in its vortex. And our candle in the wind was extinguished, prematurely and unexpectedly. We miss her.. every day.

We, her parents, Charles & Helena Mbugua Kimari, our children and the entire Kimari and Gachuiri family today, 8th August 2022, call to remembrance the first anniversary of the sad demise of our lovely daughter, sister, niece and grandchild fondly referred to as Ngina ‘C’. The past one year has seemed like a tumultuous forever. But thankfully, we have not walked alone and are forever indebted to more people than we ever imagined could so lovingly coalesce around us and continue to, following our sad loss.

We wish to thank most humbly all the Priests who celebrated Mass at home daily from the day after Ngina’s demise up until the funeral day.We thank Catholic clergy for continuing to walk with us beyond the funeral day through celebrating Holy Mass with us every monthly 8th day in memory of that tragic 8th of August In humility, we thank Fr. Isaac Njihia for presiding over the celebration of the Requiem Mass and Fr. Charles Kinyua (Fr. CK) for offering a most befitting Funeral Mass. We thank the Salesians of Don Bosco, Upper Hill and the Benedictine Monastery,Tigoni fraternity for so graciously offering their facilities to host the requiem and funeral Mass respectively. To each and every Priest who co-celebrated or availed themselves to make lighter our grief, we thank you most graciously. Love knows no bounds, and in appreciation we render our thanks for Mass and fellowship facilitated by St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Halifax and the Faith City Church, Halifax in honor of the life of our dear Ngina.

We are thankful that our circle of faith was wide, the embrace consoling. Our sincere thank you for evening fellowships by the Parklands Baptist Church, ACK St. James Cathedral Kiambu, PCEA Githiga and AIPCA Church Gathiong’oi, Githiga. May the Lord bless you.

To all our friends, the lay community, Couples for Christ, Kenya and the Kenyan community in Halifax, Canada thank you for coordinating Masses and prayers in memory of our dear Ngina. To remember, one must first forget. We cannot.

Ngina is fondly loved and thought of always by her parents Charles & Helena Mbugua, siblings Ken & Irene, Gavin, Carson, nephew Charles Mbugua Kimari (CMK II), grandma Hannah Ngina Kimari, uncles, aunts and cousins. We can no longer see you with our eyes, our amazing daughter Ngina, but we continue to feel you in our hearts forever, in ways unimaginable, ways incomprehensible.

1 Cor 16:14 — Do everything in love. And do everything with love. Let all you do be done in love. Eternal Rest in Christ.
