We announce the promotion to glory of Hannah Wanjiku Kungu (Nyina wa Kungu) that occurred on 5th July 2023.

She was the eldest child and first born daughter to Beecher Kungu Gicia and Syvila Nyokabi Nguata. Sister to Salome Wambui Magu.

She was mother to Lawrence C. Kungu (formerly of CBK), Richard Gicia, Lucy Nyokabi and the late John Nguata. Mother-in-law to Salome Wambui and Josephat Njuguna.

Step-sister to Martha Gathoni Muiruri, Zainabu Wanjiku Mohammed, Veronica Wanjiku, Rosemary Wangui, Joseph Gicia, Sospeter Ndungu, Francis Mwaura, Hannah Wanjiru Njonjo, Paul Macharia, Peter Ngugi, Richard Njoroge, James Kinyanjui, Mary Wanjiku, and Samuel Wainaina.

Grandmother to Lee and Maggie Gicia (USA), Wanjiku and Daniel Akins (USA), Andrew and Christine Karanja, John Nguata, Caroline Wanjiku, Christopher Waweru, Kenneth and Wanjiru Kungu, Sheila Wanjiru, Michael Njoroge and Nduta.

Aunt to Anne, Martin, Catherine, Betty, Nicholas and Irene Kariuki among others. She was cousin and niece to many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at her home in Thogoto, Mutaratara from 3.00pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves PCEA Kikuyu Funeral Home on Thursday, 13th July at 7.30am. Funeral service will be at PCEA Bahati Matyrs Church at 10.00am. Interment will follow thereafter at her home in Thogoto, Mutaratara.
