Harriet Nkirote Kathio, Deputy Principal Ukuu Girls’ High School, Meru, dies at 54

1968 – 2022

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Mrs. Harriet Nkirote Kathio.

Harriet was a dear wife to Mr. Isaac Kathio and an exceptional mother to Victor Gitonga and Love Mwendwa.

Until her demise, Harriet was the Deputy Principal of Ukuu Girls’ High School in Meru.

A beloved daughter to the late Timothy M’Itwaruchiu and Mrs Evangeline Timothy.

Daughter-in-law to late Philip Makathimo, Mrs. Beatrice Makathimo & Mrs. Celina Makathimo.

Sister to the late Beth Kananu, the late Alex Mutuma, Silas Mwirigi, the late John Bundi, Senior Chief Samuel Kimonye, David Kimathi Ruchiu and Beatrice Githinji.

Sister-in-law to the late Jason Imathiu, Dorcas Mutuma, Edith Mwirigi, Annrita Kimonye, Mumbi Kimathi, Peter Githinji, Abraham Muthomi, Evangeline Muthorni, Ann Mamma, Charles Maim, Luka Ngaruka, Miriam Ngaruka, Caroline Nduhiu and Stephen Nduhiu. She was a cherished auntie, a leader in Church and community, and a dear friend to many.

Harriet’s Funeral Service will be held Today Saturday 21st May, 2022 commencing at 10.00am in Heritage Gardens – Nkubu, off Meru – Embu Highway and later she will be interred in her home in Kirwirwo, Nkubu Town.
