Hellen Kananu Mutonga, Mwalimu/Counselor

It’s with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Hellen Kananu Mutonga (Teacher Kaaga Girls’ High School) on 4th October, 2019 while undergoing treatment at the Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi.

Daughter of the late Jackson and the late Harriet Mwithimbu. Daughter-in-law of the late Mutonga M’Aburi and Zipporah/ Agnes. A loving wife of Mr. Jacob Mwiti Mutonga. Doting mother of Mr. Ken Mutonga and Dr. Martin Mutonga (USA). Mother-in-law of Collin Kawira Ken and grandmother of Prince Victor Gitonga.

Sister of Susan and the late Gikunda, Beatrice and the late Mbwiria, Beatrice and the late Kinoti, Kirema and Catherine, Peter and Dorcas, Gacheri and Kithinji, the late Jennifer and the late Kiruki, the late Kimathi and Lucy, and Elizabeth Kagwiria. Sister-in-law of Monica and Kinoti, Naomi and Muchiri, Julia and Micheni, Mercy and Dave, Joshua Kinoti, Jane and Gituma, Josphine and Murerwa, Cate and Mutuma, and Leah and Karani. She survived by many nephews and nieces.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at Milimani hotel (Makutano-Meru) at 5pm for burial arrangements.

The cortege leaves Meru Funeral Home on Friday October 11, 2019 for a funeral service at M.C.K All Saints Kinoru starting at 10am.The final sendoff will be at her home in Kinoru.
