It is with profound sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Henry Mokaya Matara which occurred on the 9Th March, 2023 at Oasis hospital, Kisii town.

Son of the late Charles Matara Bororio and Truphena Kwamboka, Ruth Kemunto. Son-in-law to the late Zakayo Oigo, the late Pauline Ogake and Celina Kemunto.

Husband to Mellen Nyakerario Mokaya. Father to Mevys Ogake (Engineer), Lynda Kemunto (Advocate), Cliff Matara (Procurement Officer), Fred Mogoi (University), a doting father in-law to Robert Mativo (Engineer), grandfather to Trevor Kyalo.

Brother to Joseph Onyancha (Rtd. Revtex), Johnson Mainye (Rtd. Clerk), Rhoda Motuka (Rtd.TSC), Josephine Moraa, Evans Orina (Clerk, Kisii), Gilbert Robins (Principal), David Kaburi (Rtd. Kenya Seed), George Bororio (TSC), Jemimah Nyamisa, Tom Wazala (Businessman), Benson Omaiko (Businessman), Orpha Kerubo (Canada).

The cortege leaves Hema Mortuary, Kisii at 11.00 a.m. on Thursday, 23rd March 2023 to his home in Nyansiongo Village, near St. Andrews Kaggwa Boys, Borabu-Sub-County, Nyamira County. Interment will be done on Friday, 24th March, 2023 at his home.
