Henry Nyariki Okara

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our beloved patriarch Henry Nyariki Okara, which occurred on the night of 2nd May, 2023 at Christy Marianne Mission Hospital.

Eldest son of the late Joshua Kibagendi Okara and the late Rael Kerubo Okara.

Beloved husband of Agnes Moray Nyariki. Loving father to Felista Gesare, Veronica Kerubo, Florence Nyaboke, Rose Kwamboka, Priscilla Nelly, Gerald Kenagwa, Janice Boyani, Gad Oburu, Ruth Robi, Janet Kemunto and Lamech Machuki.

Brother to Julius Barare, Lucas Kibegwa, Peris Mogambi, the late Donald Gatembu, Peter Riechi, late Elizabeth Atai, Marcella Kiage, Samson Ogechi and Erasto Keanche. He was an in-law, korera, cousin, nephew, uncle and grandfather to many.

Meetings are being held daily at his home in Nyansiongo Gesima.

A main fundraising event will be held today, Tuesday, 13th April, 2023 at his Rigoko home as from 2.00pm. Contributions are ongoing virtually on a daily basis.

The cortege leaves Nyansiongo Funeral Home on Thursday, 11th May, 2023 at 2.00pm for his Rigoko home. The requiem and burial service will take place at his home in Nyansiongo Friday, 12th May, 2023 as from 9.00am.Thereafter he will be laid to rest at his home.

Rest in peace Mwalimu Mzee Henry Nyariki, until we meet again.
