It is with great sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Hon. Phaustine Auma Werimo, who was a nominated Member of County Assembly of Kakamega representing the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party. She was born in lkoshe Village, Ekero Location, Mumias East Sub-county in, Kakamega County.

Mother to Innocentus Marwa Owuor, Holly Amaunda and Claret Maloba.

Daughter of the late Alphonce Okonia Werimo and Clecenzia Maloba. Sister to Michael Werimo, Pascalia Werimo, Consolata Werimo, David Werimo, Raphael Werimo, Emmanuel Werimo, the late Wilbroda Okwara, Jenifer, the late Mutimba, Mark, the late Andrew, the late Felistus,Thomas. James Mulaa, the late Wakwanalo and the late Henry.

Sister-in-law to Deborah, Jane, Josephine, Bridgit, Aziza, Wilfrida, Caroline, Eunice, Wilkistah and Isabella.

An aunt to Aiyana, Constant, Brian, Randy, Robinson, Rose, Dr. Florence, Gloria and Faima.

Granddaughter to Valeria Anyango.

Hon. Phaustine Werimo was a loyal member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party where her political career transformed to various leadership positions including: being the chairperson of the Speaker’s panel of the Kakamega County Assembly, Member of the budget committee and ODM Secretary of Kakamega County Assembly.

The cortege left Kakamega County Referral Funeral Parlour on Monday, 9th January, 2023. There will be a requiem mass on Tuesday, 10th January, 2023 at her home in Ichinga Village, Nuclear Sub-location, Mumias West Sub-county. The burial will be held on Wednesday, 11th January, 2023 at her home.
