James Gitonga Muchemi

It is with great sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on to glory of Mr. James Gitonga Muchemi that occurred in the wee hours of Monday 12th April 2021. He hailed from Muruguru in Nyeri County.

Son of the late Rufas Muchemi Wangai and the late Mary Nyokabi Muchemi. Son-in-law of the late Habel Kariuki, the late Mary Wacera and the late Rebecca Wanjugu. Loving husband of Damaris Njoki Gitonga. Father of Patrick Muchemi, Wambugu Gitonga and Caroline Nyokabi Gitonga. Father-in-law of Florence Gathoni Muchemi and Jane Wamahiu. Brother of John Wachira, the late Phoebi Wanjiku, Mrs. Jerioth Wambui Kamundia, Mrs. Rahab Mugure Muriru, Mrs. Eva Wangui Wambugu and Peter Kigera.

Brother-in-law of Jacob Mutahi, Monica Wangui Kabochi, Sammy Mugu Kariuki, the late Wangui, the late Julius Mwangi, Henry Gichuki, Sammy Maina, Leah Njoki. Also brother-in-law of Grace Mumbi Wachira, John Kamundia, Nicholas Muriru, Cyprian Mambo Wambugu and Rahab Wangeci Kigera. Grandfather of Brian Gitonga Muchemi, Everlyn Njoki Muchemi, Annette Wanja Muchemi, Michelle Njoki Wambugu, Mumbi Wambugu, Nyokabi Wambugu, Gathoni Wambugu, Wacera Wambugu and Christopher Gitonga Waititu.

The funeral service and burial will take place on Friday 16th April, 2021, at his home in Muruguru, Nyeri County, starting, at 11.00am.
