Hon Lusweti was MP for Kabuchai, one of nine constituencies in Bungoma County.
Died December 5, 2020
Details of death: Died aged 54 at the Nairobi Hospital where he was undergoing treatment. He had been unwell for sometime.

He was born on August 15th, 1966.
In his message, President Uhuru Kenyatta described the departed legislator as “a reserved but adept grassroots politician whose community projects had helped uplift many families in Kabuchai and the greater Bungoma County from abject poverty.”
Deputy President William Ruto described the late MP as “a progressive, selfless and enterprising leader who has been instrumental in the unity and transformation of Western region.”
The Deputy President added that “A faithful force for development and cohesion, Hon. Mukwe was an astute leader and a consummate parliamentarian who will be remembered for his contribution to the Kenyan polity. We will miss his wise counsel, modest personality, firmness and inimitable devotion to public service.”
FORD-Kenya Party Leader Moses Wetangula said the late MP “will be remembered as a hardworking and loyal member of Ford Kenya party who served his people with utmost honesty, commitment and accountability.”
Musalia Mudavadi said: “I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Kabuchai MP Hon. James Lusweti Mukwe of FORD -K Party. I pray that God will grant his family strength during this unfortunate time. My most sincere condolences to his family, friends and the people of the larger Bungoma County”.
ODM Leader and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga said: “He was a former Councillor of Chwele Ward and at one time the Chair of Bungoma County Council prior to ably representing his people in the National Assembly. May His Soul Rest In Eternal Peace.”
Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa said the demise of Lusweti is a big blow to his family and to the people of Kabuchai constituency and Bungoma County.
