It is with deep sorrow we announce the demise of James Wachira Waikwa on the 24th February 2020.

Son of the late Obadiah Waikwa Muchiri and the late Grace Wangechi of Kiruga Village, Othaya. Husband of the late Margaret Wangare.

Father of Mwangi and Wangechi, Harry and Judy, Wanjiku,Winnie, Saleh and Waikwa. Grandfather of many. Brother of the late Bedan Muchiri, the late Lina Wanjiku Wambugu, Samuel Kinya, Lucy Muthoni Kimondo, Loise Wanjiku Kibaba, the late Theresa Muthoni Wanyoike, Lucy Wambui, Charles Wambugu, Capt (Rtd.) Eutychus Muchiri, William Nyaga, Stephen Wachira, Elizabeth Wairimu Maina and Winnie Nungari Gikonyo.

Friends and Family are meeting at the family home, Harambee Estate, House no. HD2, daily from 6 pm and at Saint Andrew’s Church on 26th and 27th of February from 6 pm.

The burial ceremony will take place this Friday, 28th February at Langata Cemetery.

May the Lord rest his soul in eternal peace

    James Waikwa was our Agriculture class teacher in Chuka High School in 1969 and he inspired us immensely. He introduced us to the Civil Rights movement in the US and played us the recorded speeches of Martin Luther King Jr. which included his now globally renown ” I have a Dream”
