Jane Akinyi Ochanda (Nyasembo)

It is with profound sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Mrs. Jane Akinyi Ochanda (Nyasembo), on 16th December, 2022 after a long illness bravely borne.

Dedicated and loving wife to Jared Ochanda (Former Councilor Kisumu County Council) of Mima Village, Usigu Sub-location East Yimbo – Bondo Constituency. Co-wife to Mrs Jane Christine Ochanda and Florence Atieno Ochanda.

Beloved daughter of the late Mzee Joshua Okun and the late Grace Owala of Asembo Kabondo. Daughter-in-law to the late Mzee Peter Osunga Ochanda and the late Deborah Ochanda of Yimbo.

Loving mother to the late Jack Odhiambo, Grace Were, Martin Ochanda, Gabriel Ochanda, Peter Ochanda, Edward Ochanda, Debby Serede, Joel Omino Ochanda, Rose Akoth Ochanda and George Ochanda. Mother-in-law to the late Janet Odera, Dr. Joshua Were, Diane,Abby, Linet, Dr. Geoffrey Serede and the late Lilian Nafisa.

Sister to the late Joan (Mama Mkubwa), the late Zilpha (Mama Tom), the late Phoebe Obara, the late Bertha Osore, the late Arthur Ochola & the late Dinah.

Sister-in-law to the late Alice, the late James, Paul, Joan, the late Stephen, Prisca, Joan, the late Dorcas, Jack, the late Perez, Jemimah, Isaac and Samson Ochanda.

Special grandmother to Nahashon, Jerry, Marlon,Trevor, Jerry Were, Vanessa, Victoria, Jack, Eden, Malcolm, Michelle, Sean, Sasha, Lionna, Kayleigh, Imani, Sankara Hans, Enosa, Gerald and Ryan. Aunty to the Obaras, the Osores, the Ochollas and many others.

Daily prayers and funeral arrangements/meetings are being held at Argwings Kodhek Estate House no 37 in Kisumu and at her home in Yimbo.

We shall have a church service at St. Stephens Church on Friday 30th December, 2022 from 11.00am.The cortege leaves for Yimbo on the same day followed by burial at her home in Mima Village, Usigu Sub-location East Yimbo – Bondo Constituency on the 31st December, 2022.

Fare thee well Mummy. In God’s Hands you have been delivered, in our hearts you always live forever.
