It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Japuonj Samson Omolo Wasonga, which occurred on 17th October, 2023.

Japuonj Omolo was a loving husband to the late Dorcas Obado of Asembo Kochieng and Roseline Otieno of Alego.

He was Son of the late Mzee Wasonga Mboga.and the late Rael Kaseme, Step-son to the late Bob Nyawanda, the late Mboga Ogolo, the late Justino Mboga, the late Justo Obor, among others.

Father to Pamella, the late Tom James Omolo (formerly of Firestone), Arthur Omollo (Formerly of Nairobi Water, Siaya County Government, and currently DAI-Western Kenya Water Project), Emily, the late Fred Omolo (Formerly of Chartis), Ruth, Betty (APA), Jessica (First Assurance) and Gordon (Nairobi Water).

Father-in-law to Anne Tom,Tabitha Omondi, Evelyne Fred, Dorcas Don, the late Ounga Jaimbo (Sakwa Waora), Fredrick Sewe (Oxford University Press), Steve Omondi (Sakwa Nango).

Doting grandfather to Mercy, Faith,Andy, Delea, Sammy, Dorry, Freddy, Monday, Linda, Brian, Collins, Recho, Innocent, Nadia, Alvins, Daisy, Prince, Sean, Dylan, Brax, among others.

Brother to the late Paul Oucho, the late Adeny Mboga, the late Ouma Mboga, the late Japuonj Ojwaka, Donatus Mboga, George Bob Nyawanda (Principal Rarieda), among others.

Brother-in-law to the late Eliazar Ochieng Obado, the late Joel Arika Obado, the late Luka Obado, the late Saul, the late Angira, the late Haggai, the late Malachi, among others.

Fellow brother-in-law to Mzee John Opanga (Ugenya),The Daulas (Uyoma Ragengni), The Akumbe’s (Uyoma Kabuong), the Osunga’s (Yimbo), among others.

Family, friends, and well-wishers will have an Online (Virtual) fundraiser to offset medical and funeral expenses tomorrow Friday 27th October 2023 from 4.00pm vide MPESA No 0722258026 Denis Adem. There will be another fundraiser by the home community on Wednesday 1st November 2023 from Noon at Japuonj Samson Omolo Wasonga homestead.

The cortege leaves Aga khan Hospital Mortuary- Kisumu on Friday 3rd November 2023 at 10 am for his home in Nyabera village, Rarieda Sub-County in Siaya. The requiem service will take place at ACK Nyabera Church same day from 1.00pm. The burial ceremony will take place at his home on Saturday 4th November 2023 from 9.00am.
