John Mungai Njuguna HSC

It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our patriarch and legendary educationist, Mr. John Mungai Njuguna (WA Njuguna). HSC

He was son of the late David Njuguna and the late Zipporah Waithera of Gatura, Murang’a and son-in-law to the late Samson Kigera and the late Mary Wangui.

Husband to Dorcas Wangari Mungai. Father to David Mungai, Mary Kiarie, Samson Mungai, Zipporah Mungai, Naomi Mungai and Alex Mungai. Father-in-law to Priscillah, Kiarie Kimani, Mackenzie, Esther Kigera and Sophia Nuthua.

He was brother-in-law to Jimmy Murage, the late Peter Murage and Miriam Gathoni.

He was brother to Naomi Njeri, Josephat Mungai (Mzee Moja), Jeremiah Mutonya, Leah Wairimu Njagu, Tabitha Muthumbi, Teresia Gathoni, Milka Assumani and Rebecca Woki.

He was also blessed with grandchildren, Mungai, Wangari, Kendi, Kimani, Nyarnbura, Wangari, William, Mungai, Wangari, Wanderi, Kiama and Zane John.

Uncle to Joyce and Zachary, Prof. Zipporah and Ngangia, Ezekiel Ndung’u (Kitale), Njunu (Kendia), Nuthua Muthumbi, Dr. Mungai Mutonya, Dr. James Njagu, Naomi Assumani, Naomi Kariru, David Njagu, Samson Kigera, Mary Wangui, Kiiru Murage, amongst many others.

The funeral will be held on Saturday 23rd of July 2022 in his farm at Nyairoko Scheme Plot No 33, Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County at 10.30am.

Family and friends are meeting at the All-Saints Cathedral, this Wednesday the 20th and Thursday the 21st at 5.00pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.
