John Wambugu Gitahi

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of John Wambugu Gitahi at St. John Huruma Health Center-Nanyuki after a long battle with brain tumor on 5th September 2017.

First born son of Michael Gitahi Wambugu (Mundu wa Wambugu) and Jacinta Wangari Gitahi of Gitundu Sublocation, Iria-ini location, Othaya Sub county, Nyeri County. Husband of Alice Njoki Wambugu, Father of Caroline Wangari, Michael Gitahi and Cleopha Nduati. Grandfather of Olivia Wambui Karani. Brother of the late Peter Wakahiu, Simon Muriithi, Martin Njagi, Hellen Wanjugu (USA), Antony Kamondo and Dominic Maina. Father in-law of Kevin Karani. Uncle, Cousin, nephew and friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting at Millenium 2000 Hotel-Nyamakima along Duruma Road and at his home Gitundu sublocation, Othaya Sub county from 6.00pm for prayers and burial arrangements. The cortege will leave Kiria-ini Mission Hospital Mortuary on 15/9/2017 at 9.00am for a church service at St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Church – Gitundu at 12.00pm. Thereafter burial at his farm Gitundu, Othaya.
