Joseph Gathimba Kibabai (Njogoo)

It’s with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Joseph Gathimba Kibabai that occurred on 15th September 2019, after a short illness. Until his demise, He was the Chairman to the Board of Directors of Mwea Rice Growers Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd (MRGM) and serving various Community based organizations in different capacities.

Son of the late Charles Kibabai and the late Priscilla Wanjiru Kibabai. He was married of Margaret Wambui Gathimba with whom they were blessed with children – Priscilla Nyawira, Charles Muriithi, Eunice Muthoni, John Murimi, Martin Muthii, Ann Wakuthii, Julius Waweru, Esther Leah Waithira, Peter Munene and Alice Micere and 12 grandchildren. He was a brother of David Mwangi Kibabai, the late Julius Waweru, James Kinyua, Francis Njiraini Kibabai, the late Leah Warware and the late Jerusha Muthoni. Father-in-law of Stephen Kamau, Geoffrey Ngure, Susan Njeri, Priscilla Micere and Grace Wanjiru.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily from 06:00 PM at MRGM Offices and at his home in Wamumu (Syberia Village), Mwea West Sub County, Kirinyaga County.

Interment Ceremony will be held on 20th September 2019 and Mourners will gather at Mwea Mission Hospital (Karira) at 08:00am. A requiem mass will be held at Makongeni Catholic Church, Wamumu. Later, he will be laid to rest at his farm in Kiandegwa village (Gwa Kabiukia).
