It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Joseph Kagiri Macharia, retired Thika Businessman, that occurred on Friday 30th April, 2021.
Son of the late Macharia Monyo and late Wanjiku Macharia. Beloved husband of Hannah Njeri Kagiri, Adoring Father of Leah Wanjiku, Sarah Maina, Macharia Kagiri, Hellen Ndichu, Beth Wanjiru, Joyce Nyambura, Grace Kibai, Rosemary Wacera, George Thuku and Rachel Wa nyaga. Brother of the late Mwangi Macharia, the late Wairimu Macharia, the late Nyambura Makarios and Francis Kimani.
Father-in-law of the late Richard Chiira, Dick Githaiga, Regina Macharia, Joseph Ndichu, Rev. Kibai Gikuyu and Kibe. Grandfather and great-grandfather to many.
Friends and relatives are meeting at his Thika residence Pilot Estate at 6.30pm to 7.30pm until Wednesday 5th May and at Shuhan Hotel, today Wednesday 5th May at 6.00pm.
There will be a memorial service at ACK St. Andrews Cathedral, Thika on Thursday 6th May at 3.00pm. The cortege leaves Montezuma and Monalisa Funeral Home (Kabati), at 8.00am. Burial will be at his home in Millmani West, Makuyu, Muranga County, starting 11.00am.

We lived in the same neighbourhood and the occasional visits we exchanged coupled with endless football games we played just rekindled my childhood memory of my great friend George – ‘Mike Bolt’ of our youthful time 🤣, will remain cherished forever.
I remember your mum – the disciplinarian, fresh in my memory as if it was the other day.
Your big bro macharia who gave us the enthusiasm to join higher education while he was a student at Chania.
All your loving sisters – I still recall them as if it was yesterday.
