Joseph Kamunya Waweru

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Joseph Kamunya Waweru, formerly of the Kenya National Farmers Union (KNFU) on 27th February 2023.

Son of the late Elijah Kamunya Mugo and the late Mrs. Ruth Wangari. Son-in-law to the late Nahashon Gakuu Muthumbi and the late Mrs. Martha Wairimu Gakuu.

Beloved husband of the late Cecilia Gakenia Waweru. Father to Robert Kamunya Waweru, Dr. Wangari Siika, Dr. Catherine Waweru and Architect Rose Kagechi.

Brother to the late Lydia Kagechi Waihenya, the late Edward Karanja, the late Perpetua Macharia, the late Mary Gachambi, the late Wilson Karundo, Anne Kebuchi, George Wachira and the late Frederick Mugo.

Brother-in-law to the late Wilson Waihenya, Nancy Gathoni, Simeon Macharia, the late Charles Kebuchi, Nelly Wachira, Miriam Imanene Mugo, Christine Mumbi Ng’ang’a, Agatha Nyambura Maitai, the late Jane Muthoni Gakuu, the late Nduta Murigi, the late Geoffrey Muthumbi, Lydia Wanjiru Mureithi, Anne Wangechi, Kihurani Gakuu, Mwarania Maina, Kagendo Murigu and Githui Gakuu.

Father-in law to Jane Gathi, Prof. Abraham Siika and Peter Ndung’u. Grandfather to Elizabeth, Mathew, Chibu, Gakenia, Moraa, Ken, Ciku, Phoebe and Joseph. Uncle and cousin to many.

Friends and family are meeting at CITAM Church, Valley road daily from 5.00pm and from 3.00pm on Saturday 4th March for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The funeral service and burial will be held in Kahigaini village, Muhoya’s location, Nyeri on Wednesday, 8th March 2023 from 10.00am.
