We regret to announce the sudden demise of Josephine Agneta Ochieng (Owet) on Sunday 24th November 2019, at Avenue Hospital-Kisumu.

Wife of Fred Ayiera of Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, Nairobi. Mother of Nigel Aggrey Ajwang. Step-mother of Miriam Aketch Ayiera. Daughter of Mzee Aggrey Ochieng Ohito and Peres Ochieng of Ralak village Jera Sub-location East Ugenya, Siaya County. Daughter-in-law of the late Mzee Walter Ayiera, Miriam Aketch Ayiera, Sara Ayiera, Elizabeth Ayiera and Margaret Ayiera of Waware Location, Migori County. Sister-in-law of Roselyne Oduk, Jabez Ayiera, George Ayiera, Edwina Agawo, Mary Osano, Evans Ayiera, Dinah Achieng Ayiera, Anne Otiende, Matilda Ayiera, Willkistar Ayiera, among others.

Sister of Rhoda Ochieng, the late Rose Ochieng, Dr. Shem Ohito, Collins Young Odhiambo and Ochieng (Owet) Stephen Ochieng. Auntie of Josekevin, Winnie, Diana, Sara, Vera, Mark, Victor, Elizabeth, Tabitha, among others. Cousin of the Aols, the Eliabs, the Otienos, the Daniels, the Kiwindas and the Haggois. Granddaughter of the late Rev. Canon Shem Ohito, the late Rhoda Ohito, Nashon Hagoi and Agneta Hagoi.

The cortege leaves Avenue Hospital Mortuary on 5th December, 2019 at 9.00am for a requiem service at Emmanuel Anglican Church Shaurimoyo before departing for Ranen, Otacho village in Migori County.

Burial shall take place on 6th December, 2019 at 2.00pm at her Otacho home.

Main harambee on 3rd December 2019 at All Saints Cathedral Nairobi.
