Jotham Taracha Mafunga

(24th September, 1951 – 15th September, 2022)

We regret to announce the death of Mwalimu Jotham Taracha Mafunga of Lukhoba village unit, Maraka Sub-location Webuye, that occurred on September 15th, 2022 at Fountain Healthcare Hospital in Eldoret.

He was the husband to Truphosa Naumo Taracha. Father to: Joseph Wandabwa (Central Bank), Eng. Christopher Mutama (American Tower Company), Dina Munika (Chilchila High School), Linda Sitawa (Britam), Hon. Victor Lusimbo, Alex Wanjala, Stella Nafula and Christine Mukhaye.

He was an in-law to: Nanjala, Wechuli, the late Moses, late Titus, Ruth, Wycliffe, Peter, William and the late Edith Lusimbo.

Father-in-law to Noel Khayanje (USIU), Joyce Nyabonyi (Unilever), Timothy Kitui (USA), Nicodemus Juma (Kengen), Salome Murefu, Metrine Wanjala, Phillip Adema and Philip.

He was brother to Grace Mwibanda, Beatrice Nambobi, Gladys Kalamu, Alice Munoko, Jane Khaemba, Amu Wambasi, Joseph Mafunga (USA), Edith Wandabwa, Simon Wandabwa, Ilam Nyongesa and Damaris Namusonge (Sang’alo Technical Institute). Step-brother to Wafula, Kenyatta, Wanyonyi, Wanjala, Wambasi, Nekesa, Everline, Morina, and Wandabwa.

Cousin to Chindias’,Yukas’, Nuhus’, Masibos’ and many others.

The late Jotham Taracha has left behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The cortege will leave Lugulu Mission Hospital on Friday September 23rd, 2022 for an overnight vigil and final send off at his Webuye home next to river Nzoia Bridge, off Eldoret Malaba Highway on Saturday September 24th, 2022.
