Joyce Mugai Festus

It is humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Joyce Mugai Festus of Kanjikeru Village, Ndunguri Sub-location, Mugumango Location, Maara Sub-county in Tharaka Nithi County.

Daughter of the late Livingstone Mbirithi and the late Agnes Mukwaiti. Sister to Judith, the late Julia, George, Gatune, the late Mukwairu, Ithima and Nyagah. B

eloved wife to Retired Evangelist Festus Nkoroi M’Muga. Loving mother to ldah Muthoni, Rufus Gitonga (Headteacher Karialcomo Pri. Sch), Humphrey Kirimi (Principal Mikumbune Secondary Sch), Dr. Eliud Mutwiri (Deputy Director Gender, State Department of Gender and Affirmative Action), Kellen Njeri (Teacher Chuka Boys High Sch), Dr. Lilian Kathambi (Lecturer Machakos University) and Janice Makena (Teacher Mwerongai Pri Sch.).

Mother-in-law to Faith Gitonga (Teacher Ndunguri Pri. Sch), Florence Kirimi (Deputy Headteacher St. Elizabeth Pri. Sch), Mary Kaari Mutwiri (Teacher Chuka Boys High Sch), John Rugendo (Deputy Principal Kambandi Sec. Sch), Dr. Samuel Gitonga (Quality Assurance Officer, Nairobi County), Jackson Kimathi (Teacher, Karama Antuamuo Sec. Sch) and the late Japheth Riungu.

She has left behind 16 grandchildren namely; Nkatha, Muthuri, Gaceri, Mukiri, Sharon, Murithi, Munene, Mwiti, Kelvin, Gatugi, Kendi, Gakii, Gatwiri, Gatugi, Mwenda, Musyoka and 2 great-grandchildren; Murimi and Glad.

The cortege will leave PCEA Chogoria Hospital on Friday 3rd March, 2023 for a memorial requiem Service at Ndunguri PCEA Church at 10:00am followed by interment at his Kanjikeru home in Ndunguri Sub-location, Maara Sub-county, Tharaka Nithi County.
