It’s with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of the Lay Canon Godfrey Ngunjiri Wanjohi in USA. He is a Lay Canon of ACK, Diocese of Mt. Kenya West; Director, Othaya Teachers College/ River Road School; Chairman of Kenya Private School Association, Nyeri County; Member of Nyeri County Education Board; Chairman, BOG, Chinga Boys; Former Chairman, BOG, Kiamuya Secondary.
Son of the late Zachayo Wanjohi & Late Irene Wangui and son-in-law of the Late Johana Muriithi & the late Lydia Njoki . Husband of Alice Wanjiku. Father of Crispus Wanjohi, Christine Wangui & Dr. George Gatere of Kahawa Sukari, Raymond Muriithi & Rahab Nyambura of USA, Noralisbeth Njoki & Christopher Kibe of Ruaka. Grandfather of Ezra, Michael, Dion, Nathan, Austin, Nicholas, Georginah, Malakai, Fifi, Natalie, Christianah, Ness, Debbie and others. Brother of Gerald Njoroge (Samaki), the Late Winnie Waceke, Milicent Mumbi, Freshia Wanjiru Thiga and Hutchison Githinji (Chairman, lriaini Tea factory). Brother in law of Dr. Muchiri, Mwangi, Wanjohi, King’ori , Ndung’u, Margaret, Gitahi and Macharia Uncle of Wanjohi, Mercy, Wangui, Kariuki, Ngunjiri, Njoroge, Wanjiru, Githinji , Kibira,Theuri, Njoki, Muriithi, Josephine and others. Cousin of Gicheru, Nyokabi, Maina and others.
Family and Friends are meeting daily at his home in Huhoini-Chinga from 3pm, Homeland Hotel, Nairobi from 6pm and in RiverRoad School, Othaya from 6 pm for funeral arrangements.
A requiem mass will be held at Othaya Teacher’s College on Saturday, 19th October, 2019 from 2pm. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, 22nd October, 2019.
The cortege will leave the Outspan Hospital Mortuary on Tuesday the 22nd October, 2019 at 8.00 am and thereafter, a Church Service will take place at ACK St. Andrews Church, Kagongo from 10.am. The body will be laid to rest at his home in Huhoini-Chinga, Othaya.

Go in peace lay canon ngunjiri. You have left an indelible mark in the lives of many and more so in the education sector. We thank the lord for your life.
