Appreciation

19th September, 1959 to 5th September, 2022

We thank the Lord God for the time He gave us Linet Achieng. A wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, in-law and neighbor. The most amiable person anyone can come across. As the Queen rested across the oceans, Linet rested in the loving arms of her husband on the 5th of September 2022.

Our sincere appreciation goes to the thousands of relatives, friends, and neighbors who found time to assist the family in laying her to rest on the 16th of September. Whilst we are unable to name all the people who helped, we, in particular, remember the following: Doctors and medical staff at Max Super Specialty Hospital, New Delhi, who prolonged her life by introducing two patent stents in her heart; Ranen Adventist Mission Hospital staff who battled to save her life during the early morning of the 5th of September 2022, after Linet suffered a cardiac arrest; Pastors Ngore, Asango, and others who prayed with the immediate family immediately after she passed on, before being transferred to Rosewood Mortuary; All Mamboleo Harvest SDA Church members, including Pastor Jared, Kisumu neighbors and friends, who also took their time to pray and condole with the family; All the in-laws, joka Tolo, Odongo, particularly Mr. & Mrs. Okoth Ogola, Mrs. Opundo and Mrs. R Ogembo, for their ever-present support from the day we lost Linet on the 5th of September 2022 until after we laid her to rest. For your prayers, financial support, food and words of encouragement; Raywer SDA Church members who kept vigil with the family each night from the day she passed on and throughout the difficult period; Colleagues from Design Master Plan (DMP), Mbagathi Hospital welfare, Kereri girls ’96, Kenya Commercial Bank, Mediamax Network Ltd, Financial Sector Deepening – Kenya (FSD), Syokimau SDA Church, Oxford SDA Church. Our family and friends in Kenya, the US, UK, Australia and elsewhere for both financial and in-kind support, as well as words of encouragement and prayers for the family; West Kenya Lake and Ranen Conferences.

May the Good Lord give you all according to your support to the family. May you never lack, for you came through for us when we were in need.

Ecc. 7:8 —”The end of a thing is better than its beginning….” If the Lord saw it fit that the life of Linet should end, we humbly accept. Ecc 7:3 reminds us, `Sorrow is better than laughter, for by a sad countenance the heart is made better.”
