Lucia Wangui Karanja

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Lucia Wangui Karanja, which occurred on 11th December 2022.

Daughter of the late Stephen Karanja Kiarie (Irega), the late Alice Wangari Karanja and step-daughter to Ruth Wambui. Beloved sister to Salome Wairmu Kamau, the late Felistas Njeri Ng’ang’a, Bernadette Magiri Muiru, Paul Mwea Karanja and Charles Waruiru Karanja. Step-sister to the late Charles Kibe Karanja, Samuel Kimani,Teresia Thomas, Agnes Gathoni, Joseph Kiarie, Peter Mwangi, Luciah Kibe, among many others. A loving Aunt blessed with an abundance of nieces and nephews and a friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily in her home in Karatu Village in Gatundu South for prayers and burial arrangements.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital (KUTRH) Mortuary on Monday 19th December 2022 at 9.00am for church service at St-James Catholic Church – Karatu at 11.00am and thereafter the burial shall take lace at her home in Karatu Village.
