We humbly announce the death of Lucy Wanjiru Irungu, which occurred on Friday 23 April 2021 on her way to hospital.
Daughter of the late Joseph Thiiru and the late Rosemary Muthoni. Wife of the late Evanson Irungu Gikungu. Mother of Dr. David Gikungu, Frederick Thiiru, Alice Njenga, the late Rosemary Muthoni Gichu, Mary Nyambura and Philip Kiragu. Mother-in-law of Prof. Mary Gikungu, Lilian Waitherero Thiiru, Harry Njenga, the late Gichu Maina, Moses Maina and Lilian Kiragu. Sister of Johnson Irungu, Regina Kabura Kariuki, the late Edward Wakahiu, Stephen Karumba, the late Faith Njeri Ngure, Alice Wakoimbi Irungu and Moses Maina. Grandmother and great grandmother of many.
Burial arrangements are taking place at her home in Gitie village, Weithaga Location, Wangu Ward, Murang’a County.
The cortege leaves Murang’a County Mortuary on Thursday 29 April 2021 at 9.00 AM, for burial at her home in Gitie village.
Our mother, sister, cucu and friend now rests in peace. Glory be to God.
