Major (Rtd) Joseph Cheruiyot Langat (JC)

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Major (Rtd) Joseph Cheruiyot Langat (fondly referred to as “JC”), Chief Pilot at KETRACO, which occurred on Friday 23rd April 2021 at Nairobi Hospital after a short illness, bravely borne.

Son of the late Anthony Tesot (Kimbele) and the late Lucia Cherono Tesot of Kapkisiara village, Bureti Sub-county, Kericho County. Cherished husband of Josephine Chepkurui Langat. Beloved father of the late Yiva Chepkemoi, Bena Chepkoech of Sian Roses Kitengela, Diana Chelangat of Sanlam Investments East Africa, Tracy Chemutai, Mercy Cheptoo and Emmanuel Kibet Kimbele.

Brother of Martina Kimetto of Londiani, the late Andrew Kipngetich, the late Vincent Kipkurui Langat, Sgt Richard Langat of Machakos Police, the late Zachary Cheruiyot Langat, Christina Chepkorir Siele, Christopher Kimutai Langat, the late Pascallia Chepkirui Ombati, the late Hillary Kipkemoi Langat, Josephine Chepkoech Rono, Janet Cherotich Tonui, Jesicah Chelangat Rono and Yiva Chepkemoi Korir. A doting grandfather of Marcos Kipkemoi. Son-in-law of the late Andrew Langat and Wilhelmina Langat.

He will be immensely missed by his family, many friends, and colleagues.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Thursday 29th April and burial will be on Friday 30th April at their home in Kapkondor village, Londiani, Kericho County.
