Sunrise: 14th February, 1930 — Sunset: 9th July, 2023 It is with profound sadness that we announce the promotion to glory of Mama Apelles Athieno Ober which occurred on 9th July, 2023 at Aga Khan Hospital – Kisumu.

Beloved daughter of the late Mzee Daniel Olemo Ragwar and the late Mama Rhoda Ochilo Ong’ang’ of Got Osimbo Uholo.

Wife to the late Absalom Wambundo Ober. Loving mother to Elizabeth Ober-Masika, Charles Owino Ober, and Dr. Jenipher Ober-Oluoch. Mother-in-law to Janet Oduor, Jackson Masika, Edith Ober, Jackline Ober and Dr.Tom Oluoch.

Grandmother to Apelles Kireru, Joyce Miruka, Michelle Oduor, Norah Simiyu, Lydia Oduor, Stephanie Masika, Cyril Ober, Chris Ober, Abby Ober, Natalie Ober, Melanie Ober, Adrian Ober, Audrey Oluoch,Angel Apelles Oluoch, and Andre Oluoch. Great-grandmother to Dejon,Wabby, Zawadi, and Maggie.

Doting auntie to the Onyangos of Kisumu Whitegate and the Adholas of Seme Kadero.

Family and friends are meeting daily at the Ober residence at Kisumu Whitegate off Kibos Road, daily from 5:30pm for funeral arrangements.

There will be a fundraising at Ober Whitegate home in Kisumu, off Kibos Road on Tuesday, 19th July, 2023 at 6:00pm. I

The cortege will depart Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary – Kisumu on Saturday, 22nd July, 2023. Requiem Mass will be held at St Stephens Cathedral – Kisumu on Saturday the 22nd July, 2023 at 8:30am. She will be laid to rest at her Whitegate Home, Kisumu County on Saturday 22nd July, 2023.
