It is with profound sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden passing of Mama Catherine Anyiri Alaly.

Daughter to the late Rev. David Livingstone Mwangu and Mrs. Prisca Amwayi Mwangu.

Wife to the late Hezron Narriwiba Alaly. Mother to Kennedy Alaly (Impact Healthcare International), Job Namwiba, the late Edith Mwangu, Hilda Mwangu (Mwihila Mission Hospital), David Mwangu (DATRABE K. Ltd), Dr. Maurice Odiere (Kenya Medical Research Institute), Sino Alaly (The Autheque), Pauline Alaly (Ebwambwa Primary School), John Sande (Equity Bank/CSD) and Jerusa Olwosi (Oxygen 8 Ltd). Mother-in-law to Betty Toboso, Everlyne Agila, Clyde Okute, Bertha Wesaya, Dr. Pauline Mutie, Lucy Meng’anyi, Stephen Odhiambo, Lucy Muchesia and Rodgers Kisia.

Grandmother to Hezron, Franklin, Felix, Bridgid, Meshack, Grace, Penniel, the late Kelly, Shelly, BeIlyn, Tracey, Stacy, Dylan, Natalia, Paul, Kevin, Heiz, Elsie, Lelsie, Keisha, Miguel, Maria, and Rohan. Great-grandmother to Nala.

Sister to Margaret Lutta, Kenneth Sande, Jeremiah Mwangu, Emmanuel Mwangu, Selina Aswani,Christine Atsango, John Kimba, the late Allan Mwangu, the late Charles Mwangu, Moses Lumbasi and Reuben Odiere.

Sister-in-law to Humphrey, Ramadhani, Hezekiah, Martin, Mwanaisha, the late Benjamin, Joseck, Samson, Hosea, and Jacob. Aunt and friend to many.

The cortege leaves Kakamega Funeral Parlor on 22nd December 2022 to ACK St. Johns Church for prayers at 10:00am. Thereafter the cortege will proceed to her residence in Ebwambwa, Sichilayi Sub-location, Kakamega County for a night vigil. Burial will be held on Friday, 23rd December, 2022.

While we experience the sadness of her passing, we honor the best of our experiences and the echo of her positive presence.
