Mama Deaconess Atieno Otieno (Mary)

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing-on of our beloved Mum, grandmother and friend Mama Deaconess Atieno Otieno (Mary), which occurred on Saturday, 16th April in Eldoret.

Daughter of the late Mzee Nashon Okelo Aluoch and late Mama Dorina Ong’udi of Nyatago village, Kachar Kanyadier – Kanyada, Homa Bay County.

Beloved wife of Arch Bishop Otieno Oguttu. Sister of the late Ogolla Okello and Cardinal William Okello.

A wonderful and incredible mother of Pastor Oloo Otieno, the late Janet Adhiambo Otieno, Jerusha Awiti Otieno, Snr. Lecturer Awino Otieno Odhiambo, Odymah Oguttu Otieno, Advocate Aoko Agola Otieno, Eng. Akinyi Ong’udi Otieno, Anyango Aloo Otieno and Owino Ojuok Otieno.

Mother-in-law of Benson Shitote (Texas, USA), Mike Otieno (Texas, USA), Nyagilo Odhiambo (Mabati Rolling Mill), Shefine Anyango Oloo (Nakuru), Immaculate Nduku Odymah (Kisumu), Britanny Ojuok (Texas, USA) and Min Achieng’ Oloo (Kisumu).

Grandmother of Anam Otieno Oloo (Orero High School), Winston Shitote (Texas, USA), Christiana Shitote (Texas, USA), Juliana Resah Dyrnah (Xaverian Primary), Ife Kei Dymah (Mahavir Nursery),Adhiambo Adem Oloo (Bright Future), Blair Odhiambo (PCEA, Kisauni), Vidanny Odhiambo (Mombasa), Kayden Otieno Ojuok (Texas), Nathaniel Jarrett Otieno (Texas).

The cortege leaves Avenue Hospital Mortuary – Kisumu – on Sunday 1st May 2022 at 10am, the the service will be held at Christian Evangelical Fellowship (CEF) – Rambira, Kendu Bay and thereafter, proceed to her home in Oyugis for an overnight vigil.

Burial will be held on 2nd May 2022 at her home in Oyugis-Mawira, Kotieno, Homa Bay County.
