Mama Florence Aoko Lumbwa

It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our beloved Mama Florence Aoko Lumbwa on 9th February. 2023.

Loving daughter of the late Rusanael Siro and the late Mzee Nicholas Agunda.

Wife to the late Mwalimu John Lumbwa Onyango. Co-wife to the late Lilian Lumbwa. Loving mother to the late Mwalimu William Walumbwa, Fred Walumbwa and the late Jacqueline Walumbwa. Step-mother to Lencer and Faith Walumbwa.

Loving mother-in-law to Antoinette Odundo and Vivian Omondi. Grandmother to David, Ambrose, Maureen, Bonnie, john-Henry, Geoffrey, Gordon and Onyatto, among others. Great-grandmother to Tyra and Andy among others.

Loving sister to the late Dosius Otieno, the late Samwei Onunda, the late Domnic Agunda, the late Mark Ben (Jombo)). the laze Tabia Odhiambo, Philomena Oreso, Sabia Akinyi, Norah Siro, and Marygoretti Otieno.

Sister-in-law to Mzee Benard Mugaka, the late Okoth Onyango, the late Miruga Onyango, the late Matoka Onyango, Hillary Maeri and Philip Ombeme. In law are the late Mr & Mrs Sylvester and Mary Omondi of Ugenya, the late Mr & Mrs Paul Odundo and Leonida Abuoro of Uyoma, Mr & Mrs Nick and Caroline Onyango of Uyoma, and Mr & Mrs. Steven and Matilda Osieyo of UK.

Mama Florence nephew’s include Silas Yogo, Martin Miruga, Francis Obote, Mary Adoyo (Domi), Ulda Oluto (Alas), john Asubuhi and John Manama, among others.

By virtue of Mama’s hospitable nature, she became a mother to many including Jane (mama Teddy), Tobias, Elizabeth. Greg, and Bari.

The cortege leaves Avenue Hospital Mortuary Kisumu on 6th March, 2023 at 9:00am. Thereafter, church Service will be held at Nyandiwa Catholic. Burial will be held at her home in Miramba Village, Gwassi on 7th March, 2023.
