Mama Grace Odaa Wananda

It is with great sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Sister in Christ Mama Grace Odaa Wananda (Nyokal) on 23rd August, 2023 in Siaya.

Daughter of the late Okali Ousa and Dorcas Owango of Nvajuok village, Siaya.

Wife to the late Wilson Onyango Wananda (formerly KPA, Mombasa). Mother to Janet Wananda (formerly Postal Corporation), the late Aggrey Oduor (formerly- KPA, Mombasa). Pamella Wananda (KPA Mombasa), Erick Wananda (KPA Mombasa), Apollo Wananda (Siaya). Arthur Wananda (Ndiwo Primary School) and Hon. Justice John Anuro Wananda (High Court – Eldoret).

Mother-in-law to Michael Opiyo. Joyce Jendeka, Doreen Nyamusi. Kate Bila, Hellen Odhiambo and Jane Ndalo (NCPD). Grandmother to Roy, Dr. Kevin, Brenda. Grace, Handel, Wilson. Olga, Olive, Wonderful Chelsea, Nigel and several others.

Her surviving siblings are Samson Ochieng and Margaret Owino. Her surviving in-laws include John Ngon’ga and Dalmas Omoto.

Aunt to Dr. Paul Ochieng and many others.

Meetings are being held daily at her home in Siaya, the cortege will leave Siaya Referral Hospital Mortuary on Friday, 15th September, 2023 for a memorial service at the ACK St. Mary’s Church – Nyandiwa, at 2.00 pm followed by an overnight vigil at her home.

The burial service will be conducted on Saturday, 16th September, 2023 at her K’Onyango K’Obet home at Nyandiwa Village, within Siaya Township, East Alego Location, off the Siaya – Dominion Road.
