It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mama Helida Omwony Opiata.

Wife to the late Mzee Richard Opiata Asol of Uyoma Lweya. Co- wife to Margaret Opiata. Daughter to the late Meshack and Alseba Michura of Asembo Nyagoko. Beloved sister to Mama Hellena Munda, Manasseh Dinda, Agnes, Jane and late Alice.

Mother to Naaman, Meshack (late), Odindo Luo (late), Jack, Janet, Alseba and Alice (late). Step-mother to Jael (late), Benta (late), Edward, Kennedy, Judith and Esther. Mother- in- law to Emily, Roselyn, Carmelita(late), Beryl (late) Joseph Odingo, Diana, Linda, Peter and George.

Grandmother to Ian, Maxine, Divinia,Valerie and Fred Juma, Marcel, Phiney, Rowland, Beryl Hawi, Leon, Neil, Mike, Shamgar, Vivian, Sision, Stephanie, Agatha and Young among others. Great grand mother to Keziah, Jemimah, Keren and Ayanda.

Aunty to James and Dr Joyce Ogundo, the late Joel and the late Merab Aduma, Sam and Celistine Munda, Ruth and Ayuo Ketta, Elizabeth and Joseph Oywer, Prof. Josiah and Hellena Munda, James and Beatrice Munda, Apollo and Prisca, Jessica Adongo, Margret Okoth among others.

Funeral arrangements are going on at her home.

The cortege leaves Bama Hospital Mortuary on Friday, 5/08/2022 at 1.00p.m. The burial ceremony will be conducted under the Nyariaro Episcopal church presided over by Arch Bishop Dishon Otieno assisted by Bishop Thomas Asol on Saturday, 6/08/2022 from 10.00a.m at her home in Uyoma, Katweng’a, Lweya School.
