Mama Jenifah Akumu Ongombe

It’s with great sorrow that we announce the demise of Mama Jenifah Akumu Ongombe which occurred on 12/12/2022.

Daughter of the late Osoo Nyo-Piyo and Elisha Ogeta. Loving wife to the late Joseph Ongombe. Sister to the late Mbewa, Mbadi, Nashon, Aoro, Okuna, Mwajuma, Ojijo and others. Cousin to Joshua Aringo, the late Juma, Onunga, Okwiri, Owiti and others.

Mother to Mark Ochieng- Haggai Koyier Pry School, Rev. Bro. Timothy Ogeta- Contemplative Evangelizers, Ambrose Juma- NPS Chepsion, Kennedy Otieno OCS Kangemi, George Onyango, Maritha Onyango, Grace Akinyi, Jane Atieno, Rose Akoth and Helena Akong’o.

Mother-in-law to Ida Atieno, Everlyne Nawire, Caren Cherotich and Syprine Auma. Grandmother to Tony, Mildred, Edwin, Erick, John, Laureen, James, Ashley, Mzee, Aba, Clinton, Jenifa, Cecil, Christine, Akoth, Oyoo, Achieng, Juddy, Adhiambo, Mourine among others.

She left behind 48 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

The cortege leaves St Monica funeral home Kisumu on Thursday, 5/1/2023 at 11:00am for a requiem mass at Awasi Catholic Church at 3:00pm and there after to her home in Pawteng Village, Wangaya I Sub-Location. Burial and funeral service will be on Friday the 6/1/2023.
