Mama Jerioth Wambui (Mishi) Gathuthi

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of our loving Mum, Mama Jerioth Wambui (Mishi) Gathuthi which occurred on Friday, 20th July 2018.  She was born in 1927 in Gitunduti Village, Magutu, Mathira East Sub County, Nyeri County.

She was the first born of the late Gathuthi wa Githegi and Alice Wanja Gathuthi. She was the wife of the late Cornelius Kibindu Kaiguri. Loving Mother of Rosemary Wanja Ngurno (formerly KNLS), Mary Nyaguthii Njogu (Curio Africana), the late Ignatius Kariithi, Anthony Gathuthi, Charity Wanjiku Wamahiu ( Partpro & DI, Makueni), Ephraim Muchori, late Shelmith Gathoni, Millicent Warigia Mathenge (Mill Bakers), Shad Muchiri (Deeli House of Cakes-Uganda) and Charles Ngatia (Mill Bakers).

Mother in law of Dunstan Magu Ngumo (former Chairman of Tea Board of Kenya), Geoffrey Njogu Thongo (MMI), Alice Wainuku Kariithi (formerly Kenya Railways), late Mwalimu Justus Wamahiu (Aberdare Academy), Rose Wamaitha Muchori ( Famous Bakery), Joseph Mathenge Kuria (Mill Bakers), Esther Wanjiru Muchiri and May Muthoni Ngatia.

Doting grandmother of James Kariuki Ngumo, Denson Ngumo, Marion Njoroge, Schola Wambui, Ngechu Njogu, Kariuki Njogu, Njeri Kariithi, Wambui Kariithi, Kinyua Wamahiu, Kirigo Wamahiu, Wambui Wamahiu, Kariuki Muchori, Wambui Muchori, Victor Kariuki Mathenge, Tabitha Mathenge, Kariuki Muchiri, Wambui Muchiri, Julia Wangia Ngatia and Jerioth Wambui Ngatia. Cherished great grandmother to many.

Loving sister of Shelmith Gathoni Karoki and late Muchiri Gathuthi, late Muriga, late Kiuki, James Wachiuri, late Waitati, Veronica Wairimu and Mwalimu Peter Muthigani Gathuthi.

Family and friends are meeting daily at her Nyana home, Kiamariga, starting at 3pm. Meetings will also be on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26 July at St Andrews Church, Nairobi, starting at 5pm.

The cortege will leave Jamii Hospital Mortuary, Karatina, on Friday 27th July, at 9:00arn. The funeral service and burial thereafter will be held at her Nyana home.
