Mama Joan Olende

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mama Joan Olende of Kajimbo Village, Nyakach sub-county – Kisumu County.

Mama Joan was the wife of the late Mzee Lukio Olende Arungu and co-wife of the late Priskila Olende Daughter of the late Jacob Opero & the late Mama Esther Opero of Kabodho. She was mother to John Gari, the late Nehemiah Obimbo, Jane Akinyi Oula —(USA), the late Nikanor Rawo, Mary Owuor — (Rongo University), late Pamela Juma, Daniel Guda — (Baringo), Esther Midika and Susan Akoth. Step mother to the late Malachi Nyindodo, the late Dr Shem Arungu, Cornelius Olende, the late Jessica Malit and Japh Olende.

She was the mother-in-law to Peninnah Gari, the late Jane Obimbo, Judith Guda, the late Nancy Nyindodo, late Sabina Nyindodo, Rose Arungu, Pamela Olende & Dr. Chimmy Olende.

Grand-mother to Maureen, Remonah, Celestine, Malachi, Ray, Luke, Sandra, Omega,Victor,Tony, Omondi, Eunice, Damarice, Kennedy, Albert, Sabina, Varkis, Steve, Beryl, Grace, Emily, Nkrumah, Esther, Jararnogi, Achieng, Betty, Lillian, Owen, Selina, Sharon, Millicent, Daisy, Emma, Rocky, Renee, Oula, Opata, Fred, Eva, Ronnie, Rachierjunior, and Mandela. She is survived by many great-grand-children.

She was mother-in-law to: Joseph Owuor, Victor Midika, Henry Obuya, the late Crispus Malit and Philip Chann.

Funeral Service and burial will take place at her home in Kajimbo village, Nyalunya Location, Nyakach Sub-County on 1st May, 2021 from 10 am.
