Mama Joyce Moraa Nyambuti

1953 – 2022

It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mama Joyce Moraa Nyambuti on 3rd May, 2022 after a long illness resiliently and bravely borne.

Daughter of the late Petro Ogoti Nyakundi and the late Keremesia Nyataya of Mwanyakundi clan, Geseneno Village, Nyamira. Beloved wife of Mr. Richard Nyambuti Omasire of Nyamwaga Village, Bomabacho sublocation, Nyamira County. Daughter in-law to the late Omasire Osiemo and the late Sarange Omasire.

Loving mother to Gladys Kwamboka, George Mogambi (The Monarch Insurance), Janet Nyanchama, Pst. Fredrick Mokamba (Co-op Bank), Juliet Bochaberi (Borangi SDA Primary), Bernadette Kerubo (Lala Primary School), Boniface Nyabicha (The Bonmed Pharmacy, Keroka), Sylvia Kemunto (Senator Kebaso Secondary School) and Dr. Alfayo Agata (Vet). She was the caring mother-in-law to Peter Kubwa, Joy Mogambi, Rael Moraa, Doris Nyanchama, Mercy Kemunto, Theophillus Oboso (USA), Bernard Akama, Anthanus Nyarangi.

Sister to the late Geti Mogoi, Alice Kemuma, Jane Bwari, Richard Onchiri, the late Lydia, Askah Nyamoita, Joseph Mong’are, Zachariah George, Pamela Kwamboka and the late Edna Moraa. She was niece to Okong’o Orutwa, Zephaniah Orutwa and others.

Her paternal uncles were among others the late Kieya Nyakundi and Barake Nyakundi. Her maternal aunties were the late Nyabeta, the late Nyaboke, the late Bochaberi, the late Banchiri, the late Kemuma, Saringi and Nyasuguta Orutwa. Korera to the Kubwas, Mwinamis, Otworis, Ombongis, Morinwas, Akamas, Mikuros, Ong’eras (USA) and Magares.

Sister-in-law to the late Bosibori Ondicho, the late Onchoke, the late Osumo, the late Nyamache, the late Mobegi, the late Jerusha Kerubo, Mandere Nyachieo and the late Teresa.Auntie to Sags/ye and Hon. Dr. James Gesami Ondicho, Sospeter Onchoke, Dominic Osindi Osumo, David Osindi Nyamache, Migiro Onyancha, the late Meshack Nyachieo and Zablon Bosire, and their respective siblings, among others. Doting grandmother to 30, great-grandmother to I, and mother figure to many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at her home at Nyamwaga Village and at her eldest son’s house at Embakasi for funeral arrangements.

The cortege will leave Ibara Funeral Parlour on Thursday 12′ May, 2022 for interment on Friday 13th May, 2022 at her home in Nyamwaga Village, Bomabacho Sub-location, Nyamira County.
