It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mama Joyce Nyangasi Mayi, which occurred on 26/7/2018.

Wife of Mzee Dan Mayi Oriwa of Nyamor Village, Nyagoko Sub-location, Asembo. Daughter of the late Mzee Joseph Ayieta and the late Mama Irene Ayieta of Mwituha Village, Emuhaya Constituency, Vihiga County. Devoted Mother of Florence Menya (MM Shah Primary), Martin Mayi (LVSWSB-Kisumu), Mary Nyagol (Alendu Mixed Secondary), the late Judith Atieno, the late Samson Omonye, Dr. Allan Mayi (EGPAF) and Maurice Mayi (Icon Computers). Step-mother of Felix Ochieng Kwaja (Meru) and Joram Arabi Okongo. Her grandchildren include the following; Justus, Millicent Susan, Stephannie, Concy, Lexy, Audrey, Finn, Jean, Diana, Claire, Bill, Rino, Elvis, Randy, the late Lenin, Lisa Wayne, Bella, Renee and Tripoli. Sister of the late Josiah Ayieta, Charles Ayieta and Janet Asami. Cousin of Alloys Otanga and Amos. Aunt of Tom Mboya Ayieta, Felecia Ayieta, Atora Sinandi, Mark, Rise and Jane.

Sister-in-law of Mary Dida, Saulina Apiyo, Prof. Walter Jura, the late Christopher Oyende, Anthony Midega, Joshua Kumo, the late Charles Oriwa, the late Joshua Okongo and Jared Oriwa. Mother-in-law of Bob Nyawanda, Violet Simiyu, Mercy Rabala, the late Rino Nyagol. Beatrice Okoth, Lynette Muyuka, Elly and Rebeccah Wanjiku.

The cortege leaves Star Hospital Mortuary, Kisumu on 10th August 2018 for requiem service at Nyamboyo ACK Church, Asembo.

Burial is on Saturday, 11th August 2018 at her home in Nyamor Village.
